Round and round and round…

by Barbara | Jan 9, 2013 | Art to Wear, Beading, Beads and Materials, Designer Patterns, Handmade, Inspiration, Materials and Supplies, One-of-a-Kind, Seed Beads

And the colors are…

by Barbara | Jan 7, 2013 | Art to Wear, Beading, Beads and Materials, Designer Patterns, Handmade, Materials and Supplies, One-of-a-Kind, Seed Beads

The colors I used for my “Moroccan Delight” bangle have been a huge hit and I’ve had more than a few inquiries asking if I could provide the color numbers of the 11/0 Delica beads used.  Fortunately, most of the beads that I used were in their...

Another project…

by Barbara | Jan 6, 2013 | Art to Wear, Beading, Beads and Materials, Designer Patterns, Handmade, Inspiration, One-of-a-Kind, Seed Beads

Yes, I’ve embarked on another beady geometric adventure. How this design will evolve is still a mystery. I’m visualizing a cuff this time around and I’ve selected a palette of black, ivory, grey, and red, accented with metallic gold, copper, and...

The geometric bangle is finished!

by Barbara | Jan 3, 2013 | Art to Wear, Beading, Beads and Materials, Designer Patterns, Embellishments, Handmade, Inspiration, Materials and Supplies, One-of-a-Kind, Seed Beads

I had a wonderful time creating this piece and I’m so pleased with the end result!Watching the design evolve row by row as a variety of colors were added and subtracted and the expanding width of the flared edge with every increase was a joy.  Whereas some...

A geometric work in progress…

by Barbara | Jan 1, 2013 | Art to Wear, Beading, Beads and Materials, Designer Patterns, Embellishments, Materials and Supplies, One-of-a-Kind, Seed Beads, Techniques

I’m eagerly awaiting the publication of “Contemporary Geometric Beadwork”, a book by Kate McKinnon in collaboration with Dustin Wedekind, Jean Power, Christina Vandervlist, and Gabriella van Diepen.  The book also shows finished pieces made by...

BarbaraBriggsDesigns

Jewelry is my passion! I create and specialize in one-of-a-kind art jewelry. Each piece is unique and meticulously executed using quality materials. My work is primarily made with sterling silver although pure fine silver, bronze metal clay, and polymer clay, as well as resins are sometimes uses. Precious and semi-precious gemstones, vintage glass, and lampworked beads add rich embellishment to the jewelry I create. Carved bone, found objects, and other non-traditional materials are often added to my designs as accents. I also find bead weaving fascinating and enjoy designing new creations and writing beading and jewelry-making tutorials. Creating one-of-a-kind pieces keeps my work fresh, allowing new ideas to burst forth. I hope you will enjoy perusing the photos of my work as much as I enjoyed creating the pieces! In my BarbaraBriggsDesigns.Etsy.com shop you will find my designer beading/jewelry kits, patterns, components, supplies, and occasionally finished works. Enjoy!
