I had a wonderful time creating this piece and I’m so pleased with the end result!Watching the design evolve row by row as a variety of colors were added and subtracted and the expanding width of the flared edge with every increase was a joy.  Whereas some projects can become quite monotonous, I was kept alert as this design demanded full attention to the placement of each and every bead. Even more of a challenge was the fact that it ended up too large for my wrist!  I had anticipated that it would “pull in” and tighten a great deal more as the design progressed from the initial eighty-four units of modified right angle weave and it did somewhat, but hardly enough!  To make the bangle smaller, I worked extra rows of Delicas, 15/0 seed beads, and Charlottes along the inside circumference and created a ridge, which actually enhanced the piece by imparting a firmer structure and preventing it from collapse.  Now that this piece is finished, I am contemplating a design for a wide geometric cuff.  It will definitely start with fewer units and grow to six points rather than seven.  Whereas this piece is awash in vibrant shades of shimmering purple, raspberry, orange, and matte teal accented with metallic gold, I think I’ll choose a bold palette of black, ivory, and red enhanced with metallic gold and steel for the next project.  I can’t wait to get started!
The geometric bangle is finished!

Fabulous!
A fantastic piece
Thank you for the lovely compliment, Alicia!
Thank you, Alicia!
Spectacular!!
Thank you. Sharon!
I love your interpretation! BTW, re tailoring, you would find that if you decreased any of your Wings into Horns, the piece would pull in dramatically. LOVE the inner ring of pale blue.
Thanks, Kate! I want to try everything…horns, rick-rack, you name it! This is just such fun!
WOW is all I can think to say, I just found your website & am so looking forward to seeing all of your creations! I have loved doing beadwork myself for several years ( I find it meditative & gives some relief from chronic back pain) but certainly nothing like this! This is stunning 🙂
Thank you, Erika. When I first contemplated the idea of beading, I thought it would be nerve wracking, but was surprised how I easily fell into a state of zen…in fact, I have to pay very close attention to my stitches because I easily drift off as if hypnotized and then I make mistakes in the pattern!
What a stunning piece! The structure is amazing, and I love the rigid detail that emerged when you made it smaller, it just belongs there! Just bloody gorgeous!
Absolutely fabulous, Barbara!
Thank you so much, Gail!
Thank you, Danielle! I wore it out to dinner for the first time tonight and it got rave reviews…looks like I have something good going here!
Wow, gorgeous! Your color work is amazing.
Thank you so much, Lori!
Oh my gosh, this turned out just georgeous. The finishing details are like frosting on the cake. Yum!!
Thank you, Sandi! I’m wearing it as I type and just keep staring at it!
I haven’t read all the comments…how long did this take from start to finish? It is stunning.
Nancy, I didn’t keep track of the time on this project because it was my first foray with the design and there are always false starts, changing color selections and tearing out rows, etc., when I work a design the first time so it’s difficult to gauge. Plus my cat has been so needy of late that I have to stop and give her love about ten times during my workday!
stunning! a real work of art.
Thank you, Marsha!
