Here’s another idea for creating more fun wearables. If you read the blog I posted last week, you know about the “Creative Components Wrap” (the pattern and beading kit can be found in my Etsy shop) and these earrings are derived from ideas in that design. Inspired by the Wings and Triangles sections of Kate’s book, Contemporary Geometric Beadwork, these asymmetrical earrings work up rapidly. I love stripes and they play a large roll in this design. Both the tube bead and its triangular mate sport mini-wings that are comprised of 11/0 Delica beads and accented with contrasting 11/0 seed beads. I’ve added tiny brass gear beads as well as 4mm round matte onyx beads. They dangle from oxidized handmade Argentium silver earwires. Lightweight and possessing lots of panache, I’m going to enjoy wearing these beaded earrings.
Love these Barbara ~ the stripes and the asymmetrical balance of each earring. They will look darling on your ears for sure.
Thank you, Sandi! I’m working on a red and black pair now!
Adorable! I’ll have to make up a pair if I have any spare beads 🙂
Verda, you’ll probably have enough beads, but you can substitute any Delica’s for the colors I’ve used. I’ve been wearing mine and I love them!
