Bench Top Challenge

I’ll admit that I’m a packrat! Over the many years that I’ve made jewelry, I’ve collected a lot of scrap metal and doo-dads. Things that didn’t work out or were leftover from finished projects just get thrown into containers. Many of the pieces are still useable so I’m not ready to send them to a refiner. Instead I’ve decided that I’m going to make a concerted effort to use this scrap! These bits and pieces of silver, bronze, etc., will be used in necklaces, bracelets, and of course, they will make wonderful asymmetrical earrings! With the addition of beads and gemstones from my stash, I could amass quite a collection of one-of-a-kind art jewelry in the coming months! Throwing polymer clay and /or resin in the mix may make very interesting mixed-media pieces! Unlike filling commissions, it will be wonderful to have total creative reign at the workbench while transforming these scraps from “Trash to Treasure”. Okay, I’m putting on my thinking cap and grabbing my hammer!
