There is no way I will have my “Fantasy Flora” Cuff finished before I leave for Bead & Button next week! I am almost finished with the petal portion and will begin working on the band soon. Having started this project several weeks ago, I should be much further along, but once again, life has gotten in the way. I’ve been doing outdoor maintenance, tidying up the front and screened in porches, running to our local greenhouses to buy plants for outdoor containers and hanging baskets, clearing out the garage, and on and on! Given the brief stolen moments I have been able to devote to my geometric “Fantasy Flora” cuff (inspired by CGB), I am very much enjoying the project! Designing is such an adventure! It starts with an idea that changes constantly, improving upon itself along the way. And like a good book that I hate to put down, it’s a story with an ending that I can only guess at for now, but I know that the final chapter will be filled with surprise!
I love your cuff but I know what you’re saying about life getting in the way! I’m doing the same as you, getting the garden in shape for summer enjoyment and it takes time away from my beading and paper art! Time is always the problem, but your cuff is so beautiful already that I can’t wait to see it finished! Have a good time with it and at B & B.

This is wonderful, Barbara! What software are you using to create your beading charts? Hope to run into you at B&B.
I’ve been using Beadtool4 to create my charts, Marilyn. The program does have it’s shortcomings (i.e. it can’t produce dimensional charts, etc.), but I’ve been using it for several years and am comfortable using it.
I find that nothing is more helpful or intriguing to people than to see you working on a project. If it were me, my personal goal would have been to still be in progress on this for the show! People will LOVE to see it in progress, how you add beads, etc.
That is so true, Kate! I’s love to sit at a table and work on it at the show, but with four classes in three days plus floor show shopping, my schedule is so tight that I’m taking cans of tuna to eat on the run!

I’m very close to finishing the cuff…if I can just get enough free time. I’ve finished unpacking all my goodies from B&B so maybe I can get a few hours of beading in today!
