It is not at all surprising that I am getting little work done these days…I seem to have less time than ever of late. While I’m not the earliest of risers (usually around 7:30 or 8 a.m.), it’s seldom that I get into the studio before the morning is almost over. My M.O. is to collect the kittens from their room first thing and take them into the bathroom where they can explore and play while I shower, dress, and make my self presentable to the world. Getting ready used to take a half-hour, but has now grown to an hour or more…I sometimes have to exit the shower two or more times before finishing because Cooper and/or Jackson has gotten into some sort of mischief that needs to be ‘nipped in the bud”! When they go back to their room, it’s cleanup time for me…picking up the toys, etc., that fly helter-skelter during the night as they chase each other about the room. Then comes changing litter and feeding. During this time, Peekaboo, who is still not interested in socializing or even being in the same room with the boys, heads downstairs where she awaits my arrival with anticipation of abundant nuzzling, brushing, and attention in general. All this and I still haven’t had my breakfast or cleaned Peek’s litter. I’m not complaining…these tasks are nothing compared to women with children who have so many more obligations. I truly don’t know how they do it all! That aside, I have managed to steal bits and pieces of time to work on my latest geometric beaded design, a Fire Dragon Wrap. Although I haven’t gotten very far along with the project, it is lovely to sit down and actually bead for those few treasured minutes no matter how few and far between, while cat and kittens are asleep and everyday demands are temporarily placed on hold!
