Window Shopping on the Magnificent Mile!
I always make a trip to the "Windy City" in September to view the fall fashions featured on those svelte mannequins in the windows of the big name stores. And I so enjoy perusing the enormous volumes that Vogue, Bazaar, and Elle publish this time each year. Seeing the new season's fashions and spotting trends is great fun for me. And reading what the fashion Divas pronounce to be "in" and "out" is even more fun! I've found that if you live long enough, nothing is new under the sun. The styles that made waves in the past few years, I wore in the 70's! Now mid-calf length is back again - hmmm...sounds like the 50's to me! If minimalism rears its head which translates to minimal jewelry, you can wave goodbye to sales of all those baubles, bangles, and beads you make and sell! Fortunately, I noticed that loads of jewelry fill the fashion pages. Big, chunky cuffs and heavy metal are still "in", although bib necklaces are now considered a bit too much for the more tailored, streamlined clothing styles gracing the runways. My feeling is, if a piece of jewelry and you are a "fit", enjoy wearing it. Jewelry is such a personal thing. It should really fit your mood, personality, and - if it feels good, do it!
