What A Find!

I have a home decor project slated for upcoming cold winter days! I was perusing our local thrift store and came across this jewelry chest. It has so much storage space and will look divine in our closet! The tray below the mirror will be used for storing rings and earrings and the side wings will hold a plethora of necklaces. I’ve chosen a chalk paint in a rich shade of cinnabar to transform it from mundane to spectacular! Several years ago I used chalk paint on an old vanity and it was a fun and easy project since chalk paint does not require the stripping of old finish…you just open the jar and begin to paint. It dries flat and must be finished with a protective wax which adds depth and a lustrous patina. I think this jewelry chest will look fabulous after I get done with it! It will be a while before I get around to this project, but well worth the wait!
