Transformation

I had one large cone bead in the collection of core beads I featured in my previous post.  This is the end result.  I’ve wrapped a thin veneer of faux marble polymer clay around the cone and added layers of coordinating colors at the top.  The core bead had a hole running sideways through the top portion, but I decided to do away with that.  I dug through my stash of bronze embellishments and found a bumpy textured bronze bead cap, which, I think, adds visual interest.  I added a large sterling wire bail, which allows the option of placing the pendant on a heavy cord or hammered neck ring.  The final touch was the addition of strips of hand-hammered bronze and sterling wires that encircle and accent the lower top portion of the pendant.  This is part of my "Bronze Age Collection" and will be shown at my trunk show on September 8 at Brio Gallery in Galena, Illinois.
