Delica beads by nature are somewhat fragile. Their thin walls allow for more passes of thread, but the trade-off is that they can break more easily than seed beads. Some colors break readily as I have found with the several matte ivory beads that I used in my "Safari Cuff" (inspired by zig zag techniques in CGB). The ivory beads can be as thin as eggshells, whereas the opaque black Delicas are very sturdy. In general, matte Delica beads are more fragile as a result of the etching process that removes the shine from glossy beads. Add to that having worn this cuff frequently and the fact that bracelets receive hard wear compared to necklaces, it was just a matter of time before I would take needle and thread to it. As for my "Modular Concept" bracelet shown in the background…it requires repair because I dropped and stepped on it as I was carrying a handful of bracelets from my photography setup. I certainly can't blame that on the beads! I'm just lucky it didn't incur more damage!
