The Pearl of the Orient sounds like a good title for a novel, but it's actually the title I've given this double-sided sterling silver pendant. The bezel is filled with Ice resin and inclusions of Asian text, a portion of a postcard from Japan, a butterfly wing,

and small shards of glass. The opposite side shows the portrait of a Geisha and a large freshwater pearl hangs at the bottom of the pendant. A bail made of 16 gauge argentium silver wire attaches to the top of pendant with several decorative discs of sterling and bronze metal clay. The pendant slides along a hammered bronze neck ring in these photos, but the piece would be attractive on a long chain as well. One theme with two very different looks equals a lot of fashion mileage!
