I’ve just finished a somewhat ambitious project…a very large pendant measuring 65mm in width by 130mm in length. The substantial disk swings from a length of forged 12 gauge sterling silver wire on a matching neck ring. A spiral of textured silver wire on bronze metal sheet surrounds the focal “stone” in this piece…a polished, cut off top portion of a Cone shell. The reverse side (shown in the photo below) reveals the spiral interior of the shell. The center of the shell is embellished with bronze metal clay pieces...an urchin on the front and an ammonite on the reverse side, which repeats the spiral theme. Three small silver disks accent the reverse side...each stamped with a spiral design. I’ve titled this piece “Circle of Life”.
