Talismans…

have always intrigued me.  The definition of a talisman is “An object marked with magic signs and believed to confer on its bearer supernatural powers or protection”.   I like that idea and obviously so do others, as talismans and amulets have been around for centuries and are still prevalent today.  Someone may wear a particular talisman believing it will give them strength or courage to fight illness or adversity.  That special piece may be the catalyst which provides positive thinking…something we all need to see us through our daily trials and tribulations. If wearing a lucky charm helps us do that, I’m all for it!

Shown at left is a mixed media piece I’ve just finished.  Sterling silver, bronze, bronze metal clay and brass are the metals I used to create this pendant.  A tiny polymer clay bone and a bezel set textured polymer clay symbol for infinity complete the piece.  It is simply titled “Talisman”.
