Swing and sway…

That would be a fitting title for these tear drop earrings.  Hand cut crystal teardrops of zircon are captured inside hammer-textured cones of sterling silver and joined by petite twisted loops that attach to the ear wires.  They look heavy, but are amazingly lightweight.  Lately, silver that is patinaed appeals to me far more than bright silver.  I think the darkness gives the metal a depth and richness of antiquity.  Since my focus of late has been making pieces that look old, if not ancient, this pair is a perfect addition to my latest collection.   I have a nice selection of teardrop shaped crystals and stones in amethyst, serpentine, moonstone, and amazonite so I’m sure I’ll be creating more earrings in similar styles.  Fun to make and fun to wear – the best of both worlds!
