Splender in the Grass!

Our prairie is splendid this year!  The Black-eyed Susans are just beginning to bloom as are the Pale Pink and Purple Coneflowers, but my favorite is the Butterfly Weed.  It is everywhere this season - showing its bold, bright orange flower clusters that encourage every passing bee and butterfly to stop, rest a bit, and drink some sweet nectar.  I find that the prairie flowers always influence my work in one way or another.  The textures of various blossoms and shapes of the leaves, and, of course, the brilliant colors are always sure to surface in a necklace or bracelet - or both!
