I'd been diligently working on a new geometric beading design when out of the blue a friend asked if I still work with polymer clay and if so, could he order some cocktail picks. I had made him a single pick to go with a martini glass, jar of olives, and bottle of Absolute Vodka that we gave to him as a going away present and he obviously liked the pick enough to want more! So I put my beadwork aside, conditioned my clay, and set to work! I find when I'm creating a polymer clay item that will compose a series I really have to do the pieces in one sitting in order for the work to be cohesive. I started this project late yesterday afternoon and by midnight they were finished curing. I enjoyed this diversion as it's fun to work with different mediums, but now all those purple, green, and blue Delicas on my table are calling me and I'm ready to get back to creating beaded beads!
