Shoot for the Moon!

This sterling silver brooch dates back to 1995 when I was heavily into creating hollow forms from sheet metal with help from my trusty Bonny Doon 20-ton hydraulic press.  I saw in this abstract composition a rocket and moon.   The textures of both end pieces are craggy with rivulets and vallies – somewhat resembling the  moon’s surface.  Thin slices of 14k gold flank both sides of the rocket and small bezel set amber and onyx cabochans adorn the end pieces.
