When I go on vacation, it's imperative that I have a project to work on. I get so bored if I'm just passing time...I am a maker and I have to create! I'm not one for a lot of sight-seeing and we tend to vacation in the same locales so they are really just a break from the weather and a change of scenery as far as I'm concerned...can you tell I'm not wild about travel. When planning what to take on vacation, I always think of projects that will travel well. Polymer clay is out of the question...it would most likely be confiscated by the TSA and it needs to be baked. I'm not really into painting or drawing. For me, beading is truly the best medium for travel as it doesn't take up much space in my bag or require a large workspace. This bead embroidery project is ready to go...I'll be packing it in my travel tin so it can be tossed in my bag at a moment's notice! I'm looking forward to this project because for a change I'll be making this purely for pleasure rather than writing a tutorial and taking process photos, which always involves a lot of extra work and time and takes some of the fun and spontaneity out of designing. I'd love to start working on this right now, but I have other half-finished projects to finish first! This cuff sports one of my resin "Cosmic Cabochons" and polymer clay seashell components in a variety of colors and shapes, as well as Keishi and fresh water pearls and Swarovski Lochrosen crystals. Delica, dagger, and seed beads, Charlottes, baby pearls, and bi-cone crystals will be added to fill the blank spaces. This is going to be a fun project!
