Ready for a change!
After creating beaded cuffs for the past year, I am more than ready to move on to an easy and speedy project. Earrings to the rescue! They are a fast fix for one who enjoys immediate gratification (that would be me!) and they also serve as samples for testing color combinations and new pattern designs. I especially enjoy combining them with a bit of metal work. The asymmetrical drops shown here feature geometrically beaded triangular and square forms (inspired by Contemporary Geometric Beadwork and Jean Power) accented with Czech faceted beads and tiny brass gear beads. They sit on long, squiggly spirals of oxidized 20-gauge wire and dangle from handmade oxidized earwires. Lightweight with a lot of movement, they were a joy to make and are certainly fun to wear!
