Raw Faux Bone and the Finished Product!

Many of you have read my posts regarding Faux Bone™, but don't really know much about it.   My last post featured a photo of me at work on these Faux Bone™ pieces.  In its raw state, the material is rather shiny and a blank canvas, so to speak.  Robert Dancik describes this product on his website, FauxBone.com.  This photo shows Faux Bone™ sheet and rings blanks.  They look so different from the finished product!  I've just finished two new bangles - one is made with the quarter-inch Faux Bone™ stock and the other is made using the

 half-inch stock.  I definitely prefer working with the quarter-inch stock which is by far easier

 to saw!  In fact, had I not used a scroll saw on the half-inch stock, I don't know if I could have managed sawing it with my jeweler's saw frame - it would have taken a long time and a lot of fortitude on my part!  The bangles and ring shown in this photo are embellished with stamped text, heat-treated copper and brass, sterling silver domed discs, argentium silver balled rivets, micro brass nuts, and twisted rings of bronze and silver.
