I'm attending a cooking class on Friday night. The menu is titled "Asian Style". Next week I'll be dining on dim sum in San Francisco's China town and having sushi in Japan town. It's no wonder that I was inclined to create a necklace in that theme! Polymer clay was my vehicle of choice for the main portion of this pendant. Japanese alphabet text is imprinted on both the front and back and it's set in an open-back bezel making it reversible. A sterling silver abacus-like charm sporting bright brass beads dangles at the bottom. I've placed the pendant on an oxidized sterling silver chain that has very large irregular loops. A simple hammer textured toggle and clasp finishes it, but it looks equally nice on a neckring. A Mandarin collared black top will be the perfect backdrop for this piece which I've titled "Asian Influence".
