Of all the texturing tools I own...
This decorative tool is one of my favorites. I made it seven years ago while taking a PMC certification class taught by Barbara Becker Simon. Over the course of three days of intensive training, each student created several projects using fine silver metal clay: a ring with bezel that held a Cubic Zirconia, a pyramid-shaped brooch, which was comprised of triangular-shaped sheets of PMC, a pair of earrings woven with strips of PMC paper, and a carved wheel, which was then attached to a stamp-textured handle. Shown here is the tool I made. I love the look, feel, and weight of it in my hand. The tool rolls freely across Polymer Clay and Metal Clay alike and I've gotten so much use from it! If I were to make another tool similar to this, I would probably make the wheel using a large disk of colorful polymer clay and I'd incorporate a hole with grommets through the top portion of the handle so it could double as a unique pendant. Well, there's another project to add to my "to do" list!
