I'm working with polymer clay again and having great fun making these "Flora" beads. I start with a wooden bead as my base, then apply polymer clay shapes of contrasting colors, adding texture and manipulating the design as I apply each layer. Then a light dusting of pearlescent powder gives the beads a subtle, yet rich glow. After baking in my craft oven, I apply a light coat of acrylic finish to protect them. I've added sterling silver components to these dainty drop earrings. They measure just under 2 inches in length.
