Newly Acquired!

Isn't it beautiful!  I've just added this set of Fretz Forming Stakesto my tool collection.  I just couldn't resist it!  Seven smooth and shiny forming stakes sit in their very own cherry wood stand for me to admire and use.  I've done only a minuscule amount of metal forming from sheet, but having these tools will make that task much easier.  It will be fun to explore different shapes.  I've had "Form Emphasis For Metalsmiths" by Heikki Seppä on my bookshelf for well over twenty years and am finally reading it.  It's considered the bible for metal forming.  I've also found a small bit of information regarding anticlastic raising in "The Complete Metalsmith" by Tim McCreight.  I'll start with copper sheet as it is very malleable and achieves beautiful colors when heated.  I love learning both new and ancient techniques!
