I've been watching the activity at our blue bird house from my studio window. Our five bluebird eggs are now five baby blues! I peeked into the BB house last weekend and the sweet little chicks were curled up in their next while Mama Blue was out scouting for food. It will be fun to watch them fledge while I work at my beading table. We have babies of another sort in the grill on our deck. Mama mouse had tried on three or more occasions to build a nest there. Each time we were able to intercept and remove the nesting material. Who would think she would be so tenacious!!! Two days after we last cooked on the grill, there was a new nest filled with babies! We just don't have the heart to move the nest at this point, but as soon as are they able to live elsewhere, I am putting vanilla scented candles in the grill...according to knowledgable sources, mice abhor the scent of vanilla. Hopefully, that will do the trick and we can once again dine on grilled cuisine!
