Last week I gave you a sneak peek at the screen I had just purchased for displaying jewelry. I gave it a trial run by making some forged hooks and placing several pieces of jewelry on the screen. I had been in dire need of finding more space for my ever-expanding collection of art jewelry and I wanted something more than just boxes or drawers in which to store the pieces. The screen, measuring a generous 24” x 24”, has rough edges and definitely needed a border of some sort to make it look attractive. So I took it to Brio Gallery in Galena and picked out framing material and voila! I now have a beautifully framed display! Too large to hang in the area above my vanity, I’ve opted to mount it on a wall in an alcove of my closet. I’m so pleased with the finished project and how many pieces it can hold! Best of all, my husband thinks it looks wonderful and my side of the bathroom vanity is tidy once again!
