I’m in the midst of working on a new geometric cuff, but I felt the need for a brief interlude. My incentive was a project that could be beaded quickly and worn for an upcoming special occasion. Several months ago I wrote a tutorial for the “Creative Components Wrap” (inspired by CGB Wings) and I turned to that design again to work up a fun neck wrap. I love a playful design that can be created with whatever components one may have on hand. In this latest piece the Delica beaded components follow the design I created for the tutorial, but this time I added many more stacked sequins, which look transparent under certain light. I also used a beaded bead that I’d made some time ago. It is composed of round seed beads, Swarovski bicone crystals and crystal pearls. The ends of the memory wire are encased in epoxy resin seashells...directions for making those and a beaded bead similar in shape to the one I used here are also included in the tutorial. I’m very pleased with this wrap…it’s a fun piece that I will enjoy wearing again and again!
