“Metal Clay and Color”…

That’s the title of this new book from Kalmbach Publishers.  I’ve just received my copy and I’m delighted!  The book features projects by twenty jewelry artists working in metal clay - the bracelet featured on the cover is my “Prairie Blossom” bracelet (directions for how to make it are on pages 49 through 53).   Editor, Mary Wohlgemuth has done a fantastic job compiling the projects for this book and I wish there were more books like this on the market!  My collection of jewelry-making books has grown over the years and is now quite extensive.  Most of them are authored by one person offering his or her own "how to" projects - usually fifteen or more “one size fits all” tutorials, and while some of the projects may be quite interesting, others are often banal.  However, when you have a publication that offers projects by an array of artists, odds are that each artist has contributed one of their very best designs.   In the case of Metal Clay and Color, I think twenty heads are better than one!
