Keepsakes are very special…

These are very old photos of my family on my mother’s side.  The top photo was taken in the late 1930’s and shows my mother along with her four sisters and brother.  They had gathered behind a bushy plant on my grandparent’s farm and poked their heads through the foliage.  The bottom photo is of my grandmother, my mother, and me – I

was about three years old at the time.  The photos are sandwiched between sheets of mica and several layers of fine silver metal clay.  This picture pendant, which I’ve titled “Family Tree”, recalls long ago times – summers spent with my aunts, uncles, and cousins, of running with wild abandon through fields of tall grass, collecting eggs in the hen-house, riding on the tractor with my uncle Ben, pitching hay from the loft in the barn, and so much more.   This pendant is truly special to me.
