It just seems to go with everything in my Fall wardrobe. I basically wear black, brown and gray, and this piece compliments it all! Once I started bead weaving this bracelet, I just couldn’t put it down – every round brought new shape and form and I loved watching the progress of the swirling bands of color! I also loved that this was such a substantial piece with real heft – something you could really feel on your wrist, a piece that commanded attention! I had made the huge silver metal clay bead over five years ago in the certification class I took with Barbara Becker Simon, and it was such a large bead that I really didn’t know what to do with it at the time.
It rolled around in my treasure box until the spiral bracelet came along – it was the perfect accompaniment! The toggle needed to be a piece of substance as well, so I got out the silver metal clay and created a three-dimensional piece that would balance the weight of the bead. This bracelet was the precursor to my “Bedazzled Spiral Cuff” design, which sports a large and two smaller polymer clay beads instead of the silver bead – it’s available in pattern and kit form in my Etsy shop. If you’re looking for a fun and challenging project, this may be right up your alley!
