With a kiss for my husband and gentle hugs and a pat on the head for each cat, I’m out the door and on my way to the Bead and Button Show! A drive of several hours through countryside and rolling hills awaits me. The familiar route takes me past farms and fields of wildflowers, pasture lands frequented by Dutch Belted, Black and Brown Angus, and Guernsey cows, crops of emerging corn, soy, and alfalfa, and towns so small you’ll miss if you blink. I love this drive! And the carrot at the end of the stick is arriving in Milwaukee and heading to the convention center to collect my tote and all the paraphernalia it contains – show info and brochures, coupons, and usually several bags of promotional goodies! I’ll meet up with friends I haven’t seen since last year’s show. As always, it’s the start of an excellent adventure!
