Texture and surface design. These elements play such an important part in jewelry making. Imagine how different these bronze metal clay beads would look without their imprinted surface. If they were totally smooth, I would feel compelled to add other elements, such as colorful beaded beads or found objects. I don’t think they would be interesting enough to stand alone. But a bead with texture…well, that’s another story. It begs to be touched and studied. Beads imprinted as these are would be wonderful on their own gliding along a simple silver chain or adorning a slim round wire bangle. These very sturdy beads, each measuring a hefty 12mm x 18mm, definitely make a statement!
