My “Peace Dove” bead-embroidered brooch is finished and I’m so pleased with it! The brooch measures 3″ x 3.5″…far less than the enormous “Dove of Peace” brooch that Lady Gaga wore at the Inaugural event last week. In fact, it’s the perfect size to use on a sash or hatband, and of course, on any garment. It could also be used as a focal component in a larger bead-embroidered project…a beaded clutch or handbag perhaps? Composed of pearls, Czech faceted crystals, Mother of Pearl and Shell Heishi beads, Moonstone chips, hexagonal beads, Charlottes, 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads, it was such a fun project! I’m presently proofreading the tutorial and hope to have it and beading kits listed in my Etsy shop within the next few days. Stay tuned!
