In fact, they can make or break a sale. Countless times I’ve seen earrings shown on flimsy and/or dog-eared cards. Some are attached to plastic-backed flocked hangtag cards that are dusty or dirty. This scenario can certainly dissuade one from making a purchase, especially if the earrings are to be given as a gift. Displays shouldn’t be an after-thought; rather they should be viewed as an integral part of the jewelry design. The earring stands shown here were made with heavy steel wire and polymer clay and while the design element is strong, they do not overpower or detract from the earrings. Each stand can hold one pair of studs (shown on the middle stand) and one pair of dangle earrings. Not only do they serve to display the earrings, they can be offered as an additional “point of purchase” item. Because these stands compliment the earrings, they serve as a way to enjoy art jewelry when the earrings are not being worn.
