Gifts from the heart, made with love...

are very special to both the creator and the recipient.  Whether it's a baked item (nothing tasted as good as Grandma's cookies!), something stitched, painted, glued, or hammered together - knowing it was created especially for you makes the gift far more precious.  I spent yesterday making  note cards - rubber stamping cardstock and applying torn photos to create mini collages.  The theme used is travel in Europe and they will be a gift for my husband.  The cards will be placed in a wooden box that I've also decorated with stamped motifs and the top of the box will be covered with embossed foil.  I'm working on that now.  I'd never done foil embossing before and find that it's really fun and easy to do - far easier than working sheet metal of a heavier gauge, using hammers and steel stamps to make impressions - a technique I'm well acquainted with and one which contributed to my present elbow injury!
