I think the back of a piece should be as pleasing to look at as the front. This is the same pendant that was featured in my previous blog, but this is the reverse side. I love the color of the torch patinaed copper and the opening, sawed in a jagged round, holds a fern patterned disk made of polymer clay. The pendant isn’t truly reversible because the front of the pendant holds a cabochon, which is not flush with the pendant surface. Therefore, if one were to wear it with the backside facing forward, the pendant wouldn’t lie flat. Instead, it would wobble from side to side. So why go to the trouble of creating something that won’t be seen? Because I really like the idea that only the person wearing the pendant knows that this additional element lies on the backside undisclosed…like a secret!
