Fortuny Violet…

PolymerClay_FortunyViolet_Ring

You may think Fortuny Violet refers to a particular sub-species of the violet family, but it is the title of this ring and named thusly because the highly textured petals were inspired by the beautiful pleated gowns of Spanish fashion designer, Mariano Fortuny. Gorgeous garments were created in his couture house from 1906–1946.  I have long admired his work and only wish I were so fortunate as to possess one of his creations! This ring is made of polymer clay accented with acrylic paint and the adjustable ring shank is made of hammer textured bronze wire.  For those of you who would like to make a polymer clay ring, bronze and steel adjustable ring shanks will be available in my Etsy shop later this week!
