Food for Thought

I’ll admit that most of my bedtime reading leans toward technical jewelry books, hoping that in reading them before sleep, some of that knowledge will process in my brain during those night-time hours, and I’ll awake with fresh ideas, ready to hit the studio, and dive into a creative challenge!  However, sometimes I do get side-tracked by a book that I choose for pure pleasure.  As I’m what one might call a “foodie” and enjoy cooking, I have been a fan of Anthony Bourdain for some time.  He is totally irreverent and says exactly what’s on his mind.   My initiation to Anthony was “Kitchen Confidential”, the tell-all of what goes on behind the scenes in the world of cuisine.  I found it fascinating!  He’s written quite a few books, his latest efforts being “A Cook’s Tour”, “The Nasty Bits”, and now, “Medium Raw”, which doesn’t fail to entertain, shock, and deliver belly laughs.  He’s not everyone’s “cup of tea”, but I certainly do enjoy his books!
