Creating More Cosmic Cabs!
I've been busy this past week. Besides catching up on much-needed sleep, paperwork, and placing orders for materials, I've been making more "cosmic cabochons". These latest collections contain all manner of interesting inclusions: miniature puzzle pieces, seashells,
reflective glass shards, gold foil, rhinestones, bits of text and colored tissue paper, etc., and of course, magic fairy dust (a.k.a. ultra fine glitter). Some cabochons have satin finishes while others are high shine. Looking at one of these is somewhat like gazing at a carnival jar and trying to decipher all the items floating inside, or perhaps looking at the contents of a kaleidoscope that has been dropped in which all the pieces have shifted! I like to have a stockpile of these on hand. Whether secured in beaded bezels on a cuff (see my post of February 22) or set in metal bezels as pendants or brooches (I have one in the works at the moment!), they are indeed interesting one-of-a-kind focal objects. If you have a project that could use this kind of cabochon, I've just listed several in my Etsyshop!
