Before Jewelry making became my passion...

Textile art was the medium I chose for my first foray into the arts and crafts arena.  I started weaving and knitting in the 1970’s and eventually opened a weaving studio that grew into a yarn shop.  I no longer have the shop, but I do have an entire wall of shelves filled to the brim with beautiful imported novelty yarns…textured, whispy, flecked, fuzzy, tweedy, in every color of the rainbow.   When winter arrives, I just have to gather a collection of various types of yarns and make scarves!  Pictured is a commissioned knit-woven scarf that I’ve just finished.  There is still time for you to order a scarf or two for that special someone on your Xmas list…maybe that special someone is you!  Go to my website:  barbarabriggsdesigns.com (the artful accessories category) and email me with your request or contact Brio Gallery in Galena!
