“Modern Tribal” Neckpiece
After weeks of making Polymer beads, I now have a a stash of components and a pretty cool piece to enjoy! My new work is a vast departure from the gemstone-laden Talisman jewelry that I’d created over the past few years. During the Covid pandemic, I spent most of my time working in my metals studio and delving into a jewelry style that felt very spiritual to me. I love wearing that jewelry with my Johnny Was kimonos and bejeweled sandals! But now, it’s time to play with designs that are imbued with pattern and lots of color and presently, Polymer is that vehicle for me! The piece shown above combines sterling silver components with both subdued and brightly colored Polymer strung on a length of steel cable. Just looking at this neckpiece makes me smile…I love the energy it projects! Stay tuned…I’ll have more pieces to show in the weeks ahead!
