A very nifty gift indeed!

As promised, this is another gift I wanted to mention.  Tory Hughes, polymer clay/mixed media artist, teacher, and author is one of the pioneers in the polymer clay field.  Her work is presently being shown at the Racine Art Museum “Terra Nova: Polymer Art at the Crossroads” exhibit in Wisconsin.  I check out her website often and found that besides her instructional DVDs she offers several other items and this is one that I added to my Xmas list.  She’s put together a wonderful package which includes a signed edition of the original "Polymer - The Chameleon Clay" book (I consider this book a “must have” for anyone interested in working with polymer clay), two descriptive cards and actual pieces of properly baked translucent Fimo polymer and finished imitative Ivory, so one can make sure their baking oven is working correctly and see how translucent clay and faux ivory are supposed to look and feel.  Also included in the set is a selection of at least five authentic imitative beads.  Here is the collection that Tory included in my package - they definitely look like the real thing!  I love these beads of faux jade, amber, turquoise, agate, ivory, and coral.  It will be so convenient to have these examples to refer to when working in imitative techniques!  Tory offers inspiring words of wisdom for artists working in every medium.  The New Year promises to be filled with exciting projects for me!  I wish the very best and happiest of New Years to you and yours!
