You may remember that I took Robert Dancik’s “Concrete: It’s Not Just For Sidewalks Anymore” class. I don’t really care to muck about with concrete, so I made this second pendant, which is smaller in scale than the pendant I made in class and, instead of concrete, I used epoxy resin clay, which allows me more working time (three hours) and carves beautifully after curing. This pendant features a fish of carved bone and two pieces of glass half buried to make them appear fossil-like. Several
fine silver daggers and bronze, copper, and brass beads hang at the bottom of the pendant. The 26″ chain is composed of different styles of sterling silver and patinated brass and copper chains joined together with 5mm semi-precious gemstone beads. The bail is made of steel wire embellished with coiled wire and beads of glass and bronze metal clay. On the opposite side of the pendant is a cut-out, which shows a textured design made from polymer clay, making the pendant reversible and also very versatile.
