Well…

I never know what I’ll find when I rearrange my studios! I almost always come across gadgets that I didn’t remember I had and often can’t figure how they should be implemented or the purpose intended for using them. And there is always that “Aha” moment of locating something that I had been searching for. I also find UFOs…those unfinished objects/projects that I set aside and never returned to. Case in point the work shown above…I believe I beaded these triangles a summer or two ago when I would take my beading projects out to the screened porch to work on. Obviously, these are intended to be earrings since I completed a pair…I just never got around to adding findings. They are plainly based on my “Color Play Warped Square Earrings” design and tutorial . I had intended to work a variation on that theme by attaching a smaller triangle to the main body and possibly adding a small Rivoli at the top of each earring from which I could attach ear wires. However, from previous experience I know that when I lay aside a partially finished project, the impetus to continue working on it tends to disappear and I lose interest, especially if I’m involved in a different medium. As I’m presently focused on designing with Polymer clay combined with metal I’ll just put these aside for now and perhaps I’ll return to them another day…or year or decade!
