WindowIt’s been months since I’ve been to Chicago. Years ago when I lived in the greater Chicago area, I often frequented what has been dubbed the Magnificent Mile. I always enjoy going to the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Art Institute, and strolling through galleries. But I also love to shop and scoping out the season’s latest fashions is always thrilling to me. I get an adrenaline rush akin to gambling fever as I window shop along the avenue, darting in and out of department stores and boutiques. Having relocated three hours away, those trips have grown few and far between. Visiting the Windy City has become a treat I look forward to rather than take for granted. But after a whirlwind weekend filled with the stimuli of new sights and sounds, I’m always so happy to return to the tranquility that country life affords. There’s no place like home…besides, that’s where the beads are!
