Polymer Clay

Over the past few years, I’ve amassed a drawer filled with polymer clay. Fortunately, polymer clay has a very long shelf life because it will take quite a while to use this huge amount. It’s definitely time to start working in clay again and as it happens, my creative muse is directing me to create some mixed media pieces using polymer and metal clays. Both materials lend themselves beautifully to nature-themed jewelry and I’ve already made a collection of pinched metal clay disks that have a very organic look and feel. I think they will pair wonderfully with pod and seed-themed polymer pieces. I have a large bowl filled with pods, cones, nuts, and other natural objects, which I find inspirational for the pieces I have in mind. Below are several specimens.

So…I’m off to play with polymer clay. I’ll show you what I’ve come up with in a few days!
