imageThe long-awaited Contemporary Geometric Beadwork Volume II will arrive in my mailbox along with the newly revised edition of CGB Volume I. In the meantime, I’ve downloaded the book on my iPad and, although I haven’t had adequate time to thoroughly peruse each page, I am delighted with the “eye candy” I have seen thus far! Inspiration abounds on each and every page.  As with Contemporary Geometric Beadwork Volume I, CGB II is not a project book. Rather, it is a book that shows basic steps beaded in geometric shapes that act as a springboard to creativity. If you are an adventuress beader who doesn’t need your hand held every step of the way and can’t wait to dive in and try new techniques, then these books are for you!  They stretch one’s imagination and offer challenges. This type of beading is anything but boring! I’m absolutely thrilled to have several of my beaded pieces included on four of the 276 pages. My “Coneucopia” brooch appears on page 53 and you’ll find  my “Empress Ming” cuff, “Princess Ming” Drop Earrings, and my “Loch Ness – Sea Dragon III” designs on pages 76 and 77. Two views of my “Safari” Cuff and a pair of drop earrings made with elements adapted from my “Creative Components Wrap” design are shown on page 230. You’ll find beading kits, as well as tutorials for these designs and others in my Etsy shop.  It is so exciting to see these pieces on the pages of CGB II…a heartfelt thank you to Kate McKinnon, for a lovely second edition and for all the hard work and countless hours that went into the creating of CGB I and CGB II. You have set the beading world on its ear and I sincerely thank you!
