SpringtimeMorningOnThePorchIt was the first beautiful, sunny, warm day we had experienced in weeks.  I set out to attach hoses to various water spigots around the house, which led to hosing down the front porch and screened porch, hanging baskets and changing out plants in the flower pots, putting away outdoor Christmas decorations that had been languishing in a corner of the garage, scooping dead leaves from the flower beds, and washing my car.  The fifteen minute task I had set out to accomplish became a physically strenuous day-long chore. I hope to start a new beading project today after I finish scouring our woods for morels, but first things first – I want to take in the beauty of the morning, listen to the birds sing, gaze at the bluebells and emerging Jack in the Pulpit, and sip a rich chocolate-topped latte as I curl up in a willow chair on the front porch and slowly greet the day!
