I’ve finally finished my interpretation of the Sea Serpent from Kate McKinnon’s book, “Contemporary Geometric Beadwork” Volume 1 and I’m so pleased with it that I’m even contemplating making a longer version in tropical colors! Imagine going for a swim and coming across this life form floating toward you! By design, a cross between reptile and amphibian, my Sea Dragon wrist wrap is patterned in various shades of green meant to resemble the skin or scales that might cover the body of such a creature. Tiny faux seashells made of epoxy resin clay cover the coils of memory wire at each end. As I worked on this piece, I also wrote step-by-step directions and took process photos. You can bet that a kit is in the works and will be available in my Etsy shop soon! I’ll spend the next week proofreading my directions and editing photos. Stay tuned…I’ll let you know when it’s ready!
Finito!

Beautiful job. I’d love to see one in tropical colours 🙂
I’m definitely be in the mood for tropical colors. Our winter is dragging on…more sleet, snow, and cold and spring is still several months away. Time for some fun in the sun!
