Polymer Clay - Making 15mm Beads

Yum, it’s my favorite treat and I am now able to justify this pleasurable indulgence because it’s part of the job! Using aluminum foil as a core is a well-known method to lighten the weight of polymer clay beads and I’ve discovered that foil wrappers from Dove Promises are the perfect size for this purpose! Here I’ve conditioned and rolled my clay to a thickness of nine playing cards and cut circle shapes using a 20mm circle cutter. Wrapped and rolled around snug little balls of foil, beads approximately 15mm in size are created. If I want to make larger beads, I simply roll the clay thicker. The next step will be texturing, coloring, and baking these beads…and, of course, eating more chocolate!
